Jesus — the eternal Son made flesh — came to destroy the works of the devil by taking away our sin and becoming our peace through His sacrificial death. Christmas is not about sentimental cheer, but God’s powerful rescue when Jesus, the Light and Life of humanity, appeared to save His people who could never save themselves. And we now await His second appearing when He will destroy darkness forever.
